Why I Read Toes

"Why I Read Toes"
by Jamie Allen Bishop

"What makes you different or weird, that's your strength." ~Meryl Streep

Toe reading is defined as the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and emotions show up the way our toes do. When I first heard this concept, I didn't know exactly what to believe. My educational background was a combination of three specialties: science (I was a pre-med student in the early years of my college career), psychology (my medical specialty was to be psychiatry), and art (my bachelor's degree ended up being in Fine Arts, specifically drawing). I was in the middle of pursuing my Master's degree in Art Education when I fell in love with toe reading. When I fully understood what toe reading was - the concept that our bodies hold the stories of our emotions - toe reading made perfect sense to me.

Toe reading is the ideal intersection of my three specialties - art, science, and psychology.

But why would I shift my focus from something so concrete to something so abstract? Why pursue toe reading over all my other education and experience?

The "why" is extraordinarily important to the success of a business. In fact, the businesses that create truly grand success (think Apple, Google, etc.) are mainly focused on the why behind how/what they do/create. Why, how, what = that's the success formula according to Simon Sinek. But does a "why" need to change over the course of time?

I say, "No, your why does not have to change as you (and your business) grow... not if you have a solid 'why' as the foundation from which you launch."

Here's what I mean. My "why" has always been HUGE. When I say huge, I genuinely mean it - enormous, gigantic, and extraordinary. My why is what drives me to keep focused, persevere through the challenges, and continue to pursue excellence... no matter what! My why has not changed over the past decade (or two) of running my business. My 'how' and 'what' certainly has changed, grown, and adjusted as my experience lends itself to my tool kit of knowledge, but my why has remained steadfast and true.

What's my huge "why"?

My "why" is to continuously and consistently raise the vibration of the world as we know it, one soul at a time. (Insert theme music here: "End of the World As We Know It" by R.E.M. - https://youtu.be/Z0GFRcFm-aY) And, I feel fine!

Just a tiny goal, right? (That's my silly sarcastic side showing herself.)

For me, it's such a powerful stance for my business and for my life that it reaches to boundaries unforeseen, far beyond what I fully comprehend, and definitely outside what my human brain can imagine. My why makes my personal goals and dreams seem infinitesimal in comparison (and believe me when I tell you I have lofty goals).

It takes just one soul to create an incredible shift in our Universal experience.

It takes one soul to agree to be more authentic, more integral, more honest. It takes one soul to agree to know who they are at their heart's core, know what makes them a truly powerful being, and know their gifts are given to them for a reason. It takes one soul at a time to create this incredible and powerful movement in our society from one of selfish progress to one of universal truth.

My why is so significant, so absolute, so powerful, that nothing can stand in my way of achieving it.

If your why is important and powerful, it will not matter what life throws your way, you persevere through it all to continue to be of service to your why.

Is your 'why' serving your highest purpose? If not, let's talk about how we can shift your 'why' into something that will keep you on course through a multitude of storms.

Warmly,

Start, Resistance, Zone

“Start, Resistance, Zone”

“Overwhelm is a lack of commitment to your vision.”
“Overwhelm is a misperception of abundance.”

I am leading a 21-Day Abundance challenge right now. I started with 88 people in the group. Five days into it, only 15 people remain. I am so curious to see who will complete the challenge. I already know which category of society they belong to - the top 5%, baby... possibly even the top 1%. Aaawwww yeah!

I also know that I am one of the top 1%-5% of the world. I am honored to be in such a prestigious category. I’ve been through a lot to become (and recognize) that I am one of those top few who achieve things even when life tries to get in my way.

Know how I know I am a top 5-percenter? I know this because, despite my gypsy personality and my numerology report (which includes four “5’s”), I have three university degrees, at least seven different accredited education certifications, countless (literally 1,000’s of) volunteer service hours, and oodles of devotion to my career/business. I achieved these things under sometimes extreme circumstances - - family member addictions, single parenting, suicides (yes, plural), abuse, extreme relationship changes (yes, plural), dire financial struggles, date rape, deaths (yes, plural) in my immediate circle of influence, and... (honestly) I could go on and on.

As Jack Canfield said in the movie The Secret, “That’s just, ‘So what’!”

What’s your excuse?

I know a few more folks in my challenge group are contemplating continuing (or quitting)... possibly working through their desire to stop. The journey is an individual one. No judgment! (Honestly!)

As the leader of this journey, my natural tendency is to point out all the reasons they should stick it out. I wanted to acknowledge how far each of them had already come, and how much they had already shifted their abundance mindset. I also desperately wanted to give a loving nudge to push past what I know to be a temporary discomfort/block (aka resistance) to get them into the zone. But, alas, it is not my place to lead from behind... pushing my would-be nudgees to shift their perception of overwhelm to the place of peace I know exists for them.

I tend to think of these (however many days) self-reflection challenges like running a marathon. There’s a “start” to the run, there’s getting past the hump of (pain) “resistance”, and there’s entering the “zone” (vortex).

The zone (known to my favorite mentors as the vortex) is where the magic happens!

I wanted to tell them: Regardless of which stage you choose to complete, know your decision is fully supported (by the Universe/God/Source) as utterly fabulous and ultimately divine. I also wanted to remind them to pay attention to where the resistance is coming up for them, as it is likely the same place it comes up for them when trying to do anything new/unfamiliar. It is free will, and it remains a self-fulfilling prophecy until we push past it.

I didn’t post this to their journey because it’s really none of my business! I am simply holding space for them as they experience whatever they are ready to experience. And, I am honored to hold that space for them. In fact, being entrusted for holding that space gives me warm fuzzies all over!

Unsolicited advice is the junk mail of life. It is more about the needs of the giver than of the receiver. Besides, one cannot lead the pack from behind it!

However, if any of them were paying me to coach them on their journey, I would definitely be forthcoming because that’s literally what you’re paying a transformation coach to do - point out things you are unable to see for yourself so you can get to your desired destination faster.

So, for now, my lips are sealed!

Do you have any “in the zone” stories to tell? How did you get past your resistance? Where could you have used help to move yourself along faster? Any other pertinent suggestions?

Here’s wishing you and yours a blessed and beautifully supported day! 💞
